Orlando Auto Mechanic Exposes Industry Secrets and Scams | The CJ Vargas Story
Meet CJ Vargas of C&D Auto — owner, operator, auto mechanic, and entrepreneur.
In this episode of Member Stories, CJ takes us behind the scenes of the automotive repair industry, sharing the lessons, challenges, and experiences that shaped his journey. But the story goes deeper than mechanics and business. Like philosophy of teaching 1 how to fish, CJ pride himself on customer service and transparency.
“Inna ma‘a al-‘usri yusra.” In Arabic, it means, “Indeed, with hardship comes ease.” Those words speak to something we all experience in life the challenges, the setbacks, and the moments when we don’t know what’s coming next. But sometimes, it is through those very moments that we discover who we really are.
Today, we sit down with a man who has spent his life building something bigger than a business: CJ Vargas. At just 23 years old, CJ stepped into the family business and took on the responsibility of carrying forward what his father had built. What started as an auto shop became something much bigger a place where people don’t simply bring their cars to be repaired. They bring their problems, their questions, and, most importantly, their trust.
CJ has built his reputation around something that has become increasingly rare: transparency. He is the kind of mechanic who will actually teach you how to fish. If your car needs something, he’ll tell you why. If it doesn’t need something, he’ll tell you that too. And if the best answer is for you to take your vehicle somewhere else even if it means he doesn’t make a dollar he’ll tell you. That kind of integrity cannot be manufactured through advertising. It is earned one customer at a time.
And Orlando has taken notice. For five consecutive years, Orlando Weekly readers have voted CJ’s shop as the Best Auto Shop in Orlando. But behind the shop, behind the reviews, and behind the reputation is a husband, a father, a businessman, and a man who has spent decades learning what it truly means to build something that lasts.
In this Member Stories episode, we’re going to talk about cars, but we’re also going to talk about life. We’ll explore entrepreneurship, marriage, fatherhood, adversity, customer service, integrity, and what it takes to build a reputation that people are willing to put their name behind. Because the Ragnarr Spirit isn’t simply about success. It’s about the character you build along the way. It’s about standing strong when things become difficult, helping others become stronger, and leaving something behind that is bigger than yourself.
This is the story of CJ Vargas a mechanic, a businessman, a husband, a father, and a man who took a family legacy and turned it into something of his own. His is a story of family, perseverance, entrepreneurship, integrity, and the people and experiences that helped shape the man he is today.
