This is the story of Joe McAleavey a man born on Long Island, New York, in 1985. Raised by a single mother, Joe grew up in a one-parent home, alongside his siblings. From a young age, he looked up to his older brothers, but with limited guidance, he was left to navigate the streets on his own. By seventh grade, he was caught in the grip of addiction cocaine and other drugs consumed 11 years of his life.
Joe’s story was one of lost years in and out of jail, trapped in a cycle he couldn’t break. It wasn’t just his freedom that was stolen he lost relationships, trust, and even hope. But after his last stint in jail, something shifted. With full accountability for his past, Joe walked into his final church service. It was there he found his home a faith in Christ that became his anchor, guiding him every day.
Today, Joe shares his journey with over 145,000 followers on Instagram. Each day, men and women alike send him messages, seeing themselves in his story. Inspired by these connections, Joe created a program rooted in faith, discipline, and the spirit of the Ragnar watch a symbol of resilience. His mission is to help men and women break free from addiction, build a powerful connection with God, and step into a life of purpose just like he has embodying the spirit of Ragnarr
